What data we collect

Discreet for GPT is designed to be privacy-first. We collect the absolute minimum data needed to operate:

• Secret code: Your secret code is hashed with SHA-256 on your device. The hash is stored locally in your browser. We never receive, store, or transmit your secret code.
• Hidden conversation IDs: The IDs of conversations you choose to hide are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API. They never leave your device.
• License key: If you purchase Pro, your license key is stored locally and verified against our server. The only data transmitted is the license key string.

What we do NOT collect

• We do not read, access, or store your ChatGPT conversations
• We do not track your browsing activity
• We do not use analytics, cookies, or tracking pixels on our website
• We do not sell any data to third parties

Payment processing

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card information. Stripe may collect your email address and payment details as necessary to process the transaction. The legal basis for this processing is the performance of a contract (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)). See Stripe's Privacy Policy for details.

Data storage and retention

All extension data (hidden conversation IDs, code hash, settings) is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage APIs. If you uninstall the extension, this data is deleted.

License records on our server (license key, plan type, creation date) are retained for the lifetime of the license to enable verification and support. No personal information beyond what Stripe provides (email, if any) is stored.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. Since we store virtually no personal data, the most relevant action is uninstalling the extension (which deletes all local data) or contacting us to request deletion of your license record.

We may update this policy occasionally. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
